Ciot Multi-Year Accessibility Plan-2023

Ciot is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Pursuant to the Accessibility Policy, the following sets out an action plan to ensure that Ciot services are relevant, inclusive and responsive for all, including persons with disabilities.

  1. Accessibility Policy: Ciot is committed to its Accessibility Policy, which promotes accessibility and compliance with relevant standards and legislation. The policy is reviewed annually and communicated to all employees.
  2. Training: Every year re-fresher AODA training is provided to current employees regarding accessible technologies.
  3. Status of Compliance: As of 2023, Ciot is committed to ensuring compliance with the AODA standards, including Customer Service, Information and Communications, Employment, and Design of Public Spaces. Ciot is in full compliance with the Customer Service Standard and is actively working towards compliance with other standards.
  4. Accessible Information and Communications: Ciot is committed to providing accessible information and communications, including documents in accessible formats upon request.
  5. Feedback: Ciot is committed to ensuring the processes are accessible to persons with disabilities by providing or arranging for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for feedback upon request.
  6. Buildings: By 2026, Ciot is planning to meet the requirements of the AODA with regard to any retroactive legislative changes to codes, acts, regulations, and by-laws. In addition to meeting all current applicable codes, acts, regulations and by-laws, any capital repair or renovation projects will be reviewed and where possible accessibility enhancements will be included in the project planning.
